Commercial Roofing Contractors in Western Pennsylvania

Where We Work

Rossiter sits in the middle of our service area rather than at the edge of it, which is worth knowing if you are trying to work out whether we cover you.

The four counties we are in most are Indiana, Cambria, Clearfield and Somerset. Those are close to home and we work in them constantly. Beyond that we regularly take jobs in Jefferson, Armstrong, Blair, Centre and Westmoreland Counties, and we go as far west as Pittsburgh for commercial work.

Being straight about the edges of that. A roof in Rossiter or Nanty Glo we can get to quickly. A commercial roof in Export or Pittsburgh is a longer run, so we plan work in those areas together rather than making single trips out and back. For a commercial or agricultural roof that is rarely a problem, because the work gets scheduled in advance anyway. If you need something looked at, call and we will tell you honestly when we can be there rather than promising a day we cannot make.

If your town is not in the list below, it is still worth asking. That list is where we have built pages, not the boundary of where we go.

Buildings We Work On

Western Pennsylvania has a particular building mix, and most of our work sits in the commercial, industrial and agricultural end of it.

If you own a large low-slope or metal roof, that is squarely what we do. More on the industry roofing page.

Why Use a Contractor Based Two Counties Away

It is a fair question, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a sales one.

For a straightforward residential repair, the nearest good roofer is usually the right call, and we will say so. The reason people bring us further afield is that commercial roof restoration is a narrower trade than roofing generally, and the relevant comparison is not the nearest roofer but the nearest roofer who does this particular work.

Certification is not universal. A Conklin restoration system has to be installed by a certified contractor for the manufacturer warranty to stand. That is not a marketing point, it is a condition of the warranty, and it means the pool of contractors who can actually deliver it is smaller than the pool of roofers in your county.

Coating a roof is a different skill from replacing one. Knowing when a roof can be restored, and being willing to tell you when it cannot, takes having done a lot of them. A contractor who only replaces roofs will tend to recommend replacing your roof.

Agricultural and industrial metal is its own thing. Large exposed-fastener metal roofs fail in specific, predictable ways, and the repairs are not the same as residential work.

Whoever you end up using, including us, these are the questions worth asking before you sign anything:

  • Are you certified by the manufacturer of the system you are proposing, and can you show me?
  • Is this roof a candidate for restoration, and if not, why not?
  • What exactly does the warranty cover, who stands behind it, and what would void it?
  • Is there a separate workmanship warranty on your labor?
  • Can I see a building like mine that you have done?

If a contractor is uncomfortable with any of those, that is useful information.

Roof Warranties

Where a Conklin restoration system is suitable, it carries a 20-year non-prorated manufacturer warranty, with the option to renew for a further 20 years, subject to the system installed and its renewal requirements. Lester’s Roofing & Carpentry also provides its own 3-year contractor workmanship warranty.

Warranties like that depend on the roof being inspected and maintained, so the maintenance records matter as much as the paperwork you get at installation. There is more detail on our roof warranty page.

Free Roof Inspections

We provide free roof inspections on commercial, industrial, agricultural and residential buildings throughout our service area.

An inspection tells you what condition the roof is genuinely in, where water is getting in if it is leaking, and whether the roof can be repaired or coated rather than replaced. You get a written report with photographs and a price based on what we found.

Most building owners find out about their roof when it starts leaking. An inspection is how you find out before that, and it is what turns a roof from an emergency into a budget line.

Lester's Carpentry put metal roofing on 2 homes for us. They completed job in the time frame as promised. Each worker was knowledgable of his assigned job and did very good cleanup after finishing the work. Quality materials seem to be used and price was very reasonable. We have already recommended this company to others and would highly recommend it again.

Lester's does great roofing work! They are easy to work with, had great pricing, lots of choices for materials and color and I'm glad we hired them! In fact, we were so impressed that we told all of our friends and family that when they need a new roof, Lester's is the best!

Couldn’t ask for a better company to do our metal roof!! Debbie was very kind the men that did the roof were very efficient and highly skilled at their craft. Clean up was next to none!! Thank you and I would highly recommend this company to all!!
Highly recommend using Lester's Carpentry! They put a new metal roof on my home and i am very pleased with their work. Pricing is nearly impossible to beat and the quality of their work is top notch. From estimate to completion of the new roof, everything went flawlessly. Debbie in the office that coordinated the estimate and scheduled the install was FANTASTIC! I truly wish there was a Debbie in the customer service department of every business.. The workers were all very professional and courteous, and answered any questions i had. Lester's will be my go-to roofing company for any of my personal properties and recommended to all of my real estate clientele.

We had extensive work done to our house this spring. One of the best decisions that we made was to have Lester’s Carpentry come out and install a metal roof on our house. The crew of guys that were sent out were very nice, neat, respectful and professional. They had our whole house finished in about 4.25 hours. When they left, they were gone like they were never there, except that we had this amazing roof on our house!
I have to say, too, that Debbie, from their office, couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful to work with, also.
We highly recommend Lester’s Carpentry. I wouldn’t call anyone else.

Service Area FAQs

My town is not on your list. Do you still cover it?

Probably. The list above is where we have built pages, which is not the same as the boundary of where we work. If you are in or near Indiana, Cambria, Clearfield, Somerset, Jefferson, Armstrong, Blair, Centre or Westmoreland County, call and ask. The worst outcome is that we tell you we are not the right people and point you somewhere better.

How far do you actually travel?

It depends on the job more than the miles. A large commercial or agricultural roof justifies a longer trip than a small repair does, so we will travel further for a restoration on a warehouse or a barn than we would for a single flashing repair. The honest version is that we would rather tell you on the phone than have you wait for a visit that does not make sense for either of us.

Do you charge for the inspection or for travel?

The roof inspection is free, and you get a written report with photographs whether or not you go ahead with any work. There is no charge for coming out to look.

Do you only do commercial work?

No. Commercial, industrial and agricultural roofing is the bulk of what we do and it is our specialism, but we do residential roofing too, including repairs, shingle work and metal roof installation on homes.

Are you licensed and insured in Pennsylvania?

Yes. We are a registered Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor, HIC #PA042939, and we are a certified Conklin Roofing Systems contractor. You can find more about the company on our about page.

Is there any funding help available for a roof in Pennsylvania?

There can be, depending on the building, the owner and the program. We have put together what we know on our roofing grants in Pennsylvania page.
